Civil 3D requires dynamic entities, (surfaces, profiles, alignments, etc.) to be separated into
different drawings in order to store them in Vault and reference them throughout the project.
After importing points through the Survey Database into the SV-BASE, the Survey Database
must be checked in. This process stores the points in an external database in Vault, and makes
them available to anyone who checks out the Survey Database.
CREATING THE SV-TOPO
- Use the RETTEW-Surface.dwt template to create the SV-TOPO drawing.
- Check out the Survey Database by going to Toolspace > Prospector Tab, scroll down to
expand the project. Right-click Survey Database and choose Check out. - Under Toolspace > Survey Tab, expand Survey Database and find the project. Right-click
the project database and select Open for Edit. - Previous Import Events will appear. Right-click the desired Import Events to bring them
into the SV-TOPO, and select Re-Import. - Re-import dialog box appears. Select the following options:
- Point Type: Non-Control Point
- Figure Prefix Database: Rettew
- Process Linework: Yes
- Linework Codeset: Rettew
- Insert figure objects & Survey Points: Yes
- Once all options have been selected, click Finish. All points and linework will be
imported. - Use the appropriate points and linework to create the EG surface.
NOTES:
- Keep all linework used for breaklines and delete all others.
- You may externally reference (XREF) the SV-BASE, if needed for referencing.
- Make sure the coordinate system is set under the Settings Tab.
- Remember to Check In the point data base when finished.
